Rare charm made by Norwegian jeweller Marius Hammer (1847-1927). This miniature traditional Scandinavian bentwood box is exquisitely decorated with enamel work in purple and turquoise blue flourishes and flowers. The lid is detachable and has a safety chain. Made in Norway prior to 1927, this highly collectible charm is gold washed and stamped with the Marius Hammer maker’s mark and 930S, which is a higher purity than sterling silver. Very good condition with only very minimal surface wear to the enamel and minor age related surface wear to gold wash (see photos). All in all a very special charm for any collector of charms.
