This charm department is dedicated to equines and equitation. The relationship between man and horse is almost as old as time but, in the western world, the dynamic has changed considerably, since the trusty steed now tends to be a source of pleasure rather than a beast of burden. Winston Churchill once said, "There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man" and many a little girl who refuses to tidy her room will get up in the dark to muck out stables before school, such is her passion for ponies. It is believed that there are 267 different breeds of horses and ponies in the world and many have their own devoted following of enthusiasts who enjoy them for showing, show jumping, eventing, dressage, driving, polo, polocrosse, long distance riding or racing.
