Sterling Silver Statue of Eros Charm

A realistic miniature version of this famous London landmark. Made in the 1960s-1970s it is in very good condition.
The Statue of Eros in London, officially the Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain, stands at the centre of Piccadilly Circus. Unveiled in 1893, it was designed by Sir Alfred Gilbert to honour the 7th Earl of Shaftesbury, a noted Victorian philanthropist. The winged figure is commonly referred to as Eros, the Greek god of love, but was intended by the sculptor to represent Anteros, the god of selfless love and the avenger of unrequited affection. Remarkably, it was one of the first statues in the world to be cast in aluminium, making it both artistically and technically innovative for its time.
