Movie Slate Charm
Clapperboard for film making charm. Also known as a sync slate and a sound marker, the film maker’s clapperboard was devised to assist in synchronizing sound and picture, also doubling as a chalk board on which is written information about the next scene to be shot, such as date, title of production, director’s name and a few details about the scene. It is believed to have been invented by Leon M. Leon in the early 1920s.
