This extraordinary bracelet has beautiful, near-mint, examples of most of (if not, all) the enamelled hearts made by the Walter Lampl Company. It has taken years for the owner of this bracelet to find the different heart charms to add to those she already owned from childhood. It was important that each charm she found had no dents, scratches or chipped enamel – her goal was to find the most beautiful charms possible. The Walter Lampl December birth month charm has proved the hardest find and so, for now, there is a lovely example in place but with the incorrect stone having been reset into it during its lifetime – the correct stone for this charm is a turquoise.
After finally finding all 12 birth month charms they were attached evenly along the bracelet and in order of months. Then began the positioning of the other hearts, which is often more difficult than anticipated! The result is stunning, the colours and different flowers have been thoughtfully positioned for aesthetic balance:
“I started filling the rest of the links with as much variety as I could find. I absolutely LOVE the Guilloche backgrounds, and wanted as many different Guilloche patterns as I could find, as well as getting all the soft green, pink, lavender, blue and yellow backgrounds I could find, as well as the most artistically painted and well balanced flowers. I also was careful to distribute the colours where they would fit in most attractively around the bracelet, and then a padlock charm where it fastens.”
I am grateful to the owner of this bracelet for being kind enough to share images for the charm enthusiasts among us to enjoy.
